A few years ago, I
finally quit my grind of a dead-end, unrewarding job with corporate
America. This was one of the smartest things I ever did. You see, what
I did there had become a task that really added no value at all to the
lives of our fellow man. Which is what most corporate tasks are all
about. They solve no real problem, only problems that have been
invented by the corporate system. Likewise, all the stress I
brought home was also artificial and man-made. In the end, these were
things that really were not worth worrying about. But that is hard to
see when you are in the middle of it. You have to get way from the rat
race to see all this for yourself. They sell you on the idea that you
will surely perish without them and the great job they have given
you.
Tired of Attending Worthless
Meetings in the Rat Race
Thank God, all of
that has now changed. I awaken now at a time that is convenient to me.
I no longer have to juggle an insane schedule around just to sit
through some boring meeting that provides only worthless babble. I can
get up and eat breakfast at my leisure, take a relaxing shower, and
read through the morning paper. Usually after that, I’ll go out on the
patio with my laptop and complete a quick survey. After 10 minutes or
so, I am finished with that and enjoy
watching my account grow by
another $30 for my trouble.
Finally An
Escape from the Madness
I’ll go inside with
my laptop and watch some TV and do a few more surveys during
commercials. In one case, I was asked to review a trailer of a new
movie and then answer a 5 minute questionnaire about it and got $18
for that. Right before lunch, I noticed that I had already
earned almost $100. I decided to go for a jog before eating
lunch. After lunch, I met some of my friends for golf. Perhaps
tomorrow I will work a little bit harder and try to earn a few more
dollars. After all, we will be going on vacation pretty soon, but the
great thing about that is that I’ll be able to do this while traveling
too.

corporate fat cats are willing to spend millions on people’s opinions
about their products and services. I guess that really do depend on us
to keep those million dollar paychecks coming in. The great thing is
that I can enjoy taking their money without having to answer to them
anymore. Is that a great deal or what? Where was this opportunity
about ten years ago? Oh well, better late than never.
